Review: Super Hexagon

Super Hexagon is a very simple game in which the player rotates a small triangle around a hexagon in the center of the screen to avoid incoming lines (parallel with the edges of the hexagon), accompanied by a chiptune soundtrack.

Despite the inherent division into six regions, the game uses continuous control, so while I could pick up on the lines just fine and decide to move three regions over, I often under- or over-rotated and lost. I could adapt, but I don’t find the game compelling enough to keep playing.

For 29 cents (on sale), I don’t regret trying it, but I don’t expect to touch it again.
